Busy technician warnings when planning work orders

See when a technician or helper is already busy

When you plan a work order for a time when the assigned technician or a helper already has other work order, Frontu warns you. The warning never blocks you. It helps you avoid double-booking your team.

Where you see the warning

The warning appears in the work order form when you create, edit or copy a work order:

  • Under Planned time, if the assigned technician is busy.

  • Under Helpers, if one or more helpers are busy.

Frontu counts all work orders that overlap the selected time, including work orders where the person is a helper.

How to read the warning

The warning shows a ⚠ icon, the first overlapping work order (the one that starts earliest) and +N more if there are other overlaps.

  1. Click the work order number to open it.

  2. Click +N more to see the full list of overlapping work orders.

  3. Click Show less to collapse the list again.

Have in mind that work orders you don't have access to are included in the +N more count, but their details are hidden.

Confirming on save

If someone is busy, a confirmation pop-up appears when you click Save, Save draft or Add jobs and more. It lists the first overlapping work order and how many more there are.

  • Click Proceed anyway to save the work order with this planning.

  • Click Cancel to go back and change the time, technician or helpers.

If the customer also has a credit status warning, both warnings are shown in the same pop-up.

Copying a work order

When you copy a work order, Frontu checks the assignee and helpers for the new planned time. You see the same warnings and the same confirmation on save.

Use the Calendar to find a free slot for your technician before you plan the work order.
