Frontu lets you hide specific fields from customers in the Customer Portal, so internal information — like who created a task or which technician is assigned — stays private. This article covers where to find custom portal settings and how they work.
How to Set Up Your Customer Portal
Configure your portal's name, registration, and icon
Set up the basics of your Customer Portal from Settings > Customer Portal. This controls how the portal is branded and who can register.
Go to Settings > Customer Portal.
In the Customer Portal section, enter a name in Customer portal app title — this is what customers see as the app name.
Set Allow client registration to Yes or No.
Yes: customers can create their own portal account.
No: only admins can create accounts for customers.
Under Web App Icon, click Choose file and upload a 192x192 PNG. This icon shows if a customer saves the portal to their home screen.
Click Save.
Customer portal app title and Allow client registration are required fields — you can't save without them.
Keep the app title and icon aligned with your company branding so customers recognize the portal right away.
Customer Portal Field Visibility
You'll see the fields grouped by entity: Work order, Request, Object and Responsible Person. Each field has a toggle to show or hide it from customer users.
What's hidden by default
To protect sensitive internal data, Frontu lets to select or unselect any checkbox from different blocks.
Work order:
Request:
Object:
Responsible Person:
How hiding affects filters
If you hide a field, its matching search filter is hidden too. For example, hiding tags on a work order also removes the tags filter from the customer's search view, so there's no way to indirectly see the hidden data through search.
Where hidden fields disappear from
Once a field is hidden, customers won't see it in:
