This guide walks you through navigating to the settings, updating your portal’s appearance, and managing customer registration.

Updated over a month ago

The Customer Portal in Frontu is designed to provide your clients with a simple, branded, and user-friendly way to interact with your services. Proper configuration ensures the portal reflects your company’s identity and offers the right level of access to your customers.

Navigating to Customer Portal Settings

  1. Log in to your Frontu account with administrator credentials.

  2. From the main dashboard, locate the Settings option in the top right-hand navigation menu.

  3. Under Settings, select Customer Portal.

    • This section contains all the tools needed to customize the portal’s look and functionality.

Updating Portal Appearance

Change the App Title

  • In the General Configuration area, locate the Customer portal app title field.

  • Enter your preferred name (e.g., your company’s name or service brand).

  • Click Save to apply the changes.

  • The new title will be used to brand the Customer portal app.

Change the Icon Image

  • Scroll down to the App Icon section.

  • Click Choose file and select your desired image (preferably in .png format with a transparent background).

  • Once uploaded, click Save.

  • The new icon will be displayed on the device if the Customer portal app is downloaded.

Upload a PNG file with the size 192x192 px.

Managing Customer Registration

You can control whether customers can self-register to access the portal:

  • Navigate to the Customer Registration settings.

  • Toggle the switch to Enable (Yes) or Disable (No) registration.

    • Enabled: Customers can sign up directly, creating their own access accounts.

    • Disabled: Only administrators can invite or create accounts for customers.

  • After choosing your preference, click Save.

Best Practices

  • Keep it branded: Use your company’s official name and logo to ensure customers immediately recognize your portal.

  • Choose high-quality images: A clean, high-resolution icon improves the professional look of your portal.

  • Manage access carefully: If you want full control over who enters your portal, keep registration disabled and approve new accounts manually.
