SSO add-on

How to use single sign on (SSO) with Google and Microsoft accounts. More secure and smoother user experience.

Updated this week

SSO (Single Sign-On) in Frontu allows users to log in quickly and securely using their Google or Microsoft accounts. This eliminates the need for multiple passwords, streamlining access while enhancing security and convenience.

If you want to try SSO, contact Frontu team and the option will become visible in the login page for administrators (web users) as well as technicians (application users).

When Frontu log in screen is open, option for Google and Microsoft sign in will be available. In this case you will not need to enter email and password but directly click on the "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Microsoft" buttons.

Possible Google accounts will be displayed. Select one and you will be logged into your domain right away.

You will only be able to log in if your Google account matches the email you use for Frontu login. Other way, you will see an error message

The login will also fail if the application user will try to log in from web environment and vice versa.

The same logic works for technician login using SSO.

When application is downloaded, the user will only see domain field. Enter it and click "Sign-in" button.

After entering the domain, application user will be able to select Google or Microsoft sign in option.

When selecting one of the option, if the email matches the one that was assigned to technician, the user will be logged in successfully.

If the email does not exist or a role is different, error message will be displayed.

Important! Basic Microsoft accounts (like personal Outlook.com or Hotmail accounts) don't support enterprise SSO features. You need an organizational account managed through Microsoft Entra ID.
