How to create a new user

Steps to take to create a user

Updated over 3 months ago

In order to create a new user, navigate to "Users" option on the left side menu. After you click on it, the window with users list is opened.

Click "New user button" for creation.

Have in mind that the values "First Name", "Last Name" and email address should be unique. The system will not allow creating 2 users with the same email address.

Customer role user and limited objects

If you are creating a customer role user, you will see "Customer" and "Limited objects" fields active.

Select the customer that this user is representing. Multiselect is allowed so it could be more than one.

Then you will see all selected customers' objects in the "Limited objects" field dropdown list. If you will not add any objects here, than the user will be able to see all objects for selected customers.

However if you want only some of the objects to be visible for the user, you must add them here. It means that despite the customers attached to the user, he will be able to see only work orders that are created for limited objects. The work orders with object that belong to the customer but is not added to this list will not be visible.

Have in mind that for created customer role user only limited objects will be available in the filters. Only work orders with limited objects will be displayed in the work orders list.

When configuration is done, click "Save". Newly created user will be visible in the list right away.

If the user cannot be created

It means that there's an existing user with the same details (email). You should change their email information in this case. Use not valid email or just find the existing user with same credential and change it. Only then you will be able to create a new user.

If the user with such credentials cannot be found, you should check if the user was not "Archived". Use the archive filter for this.

TIP! In Frontu we never delete or remove anything - we archive it. Users can be archived not deleted.

If that's the case, you should:

  • Restore the user;

  • Make the corrections to credentials (if needed);

  • Archive user;

  • Create your desired user.
