Clock in and clock out lets field workers record when a job actually started and ended — not only its total duration. The times are visible in the web app next to each job, so managers get a real picture of time spent on site.
Turning the feature on
Clock in and clock out is switched off by default. To enable it for your company, contact us via the support chat.
Have in mind that after the feature is enabled, mobile users may need to sync (refresh) the app before the new fields appear.
Recording times in the Mobile App
When the feature is on, the Add work screen shows three new fields below Duration: Date, Start time and End time.
Start the work order.
Open the Works tab and tap + to add a job.
Check the pre-filled times. For the first job, Start time is the moment you started the work order. For every next job, it is the end time of the previous job. End time is is by default after 60 minutes. Unless the standard job has a duration added from the administrator side. In this case the end time is calculated by start time + custom standard job duration.
Adjust the values if needed. Tapping the date opens a calendar, tapping a time opens a time picker.
Tap Save.
Duration is calculated automatically from the start and end times and cannot be edited while both times are set.
Have in mind that:
End time must be later than start time. Otherwise an error appears and the job cannot be saved.
The date cannot be earlier than the day the work order was created.
If the job added is longer than 20 hours, you will see a pop up notification. In this case need to check if the dates and times are set up correctly.
If all information is correct, just click "Continue" and you will be able to stop or complete the work order.
Stopping a work order without jobs
If you tap Stop on a work order that has no jobs recorded, a warning appears: "No jobs recorded". You can choose:
Add job — opens the Add work screen so you can record your work first.
Stop anyway — continues to the usual stop flow without recording anything.
Cancel — returns to the work order.
Viewing and editing times in the Web App
Open a work order and go to the Works tab. Each job shows its clock in and clock out times under the date, for example 08:00 – 09:30.
Web users can also enter or edit clock in and clock out times manually. Open a work order, go to the Works tab and add or edit a job — the Start time and End time fields appear next to the date. This is useful when a field worker forgot to record their times or a correction is needed after the fact.
Duration recalculates automatically from the times in the web app if start/end times are changed.
