A work order can contain several jobs. Without this add-on, when a technician deletes a job, it disappears and nothing records why. The Job cancel reasons add-on asks the technician to pick a reason every time they delete a job in the mobile app.
Have in mind that this add-on is for single jobs inside a work order. To record why a whole work order was cancelled, use the Custom cancel reasons add-on.
The Job cancel reasons add-on is off by default. To turn it on for your company, contact the Frontu team through Support chat.
How to set up job cancel reasons (administrator)
You manage the list of reasons in the web app. Technicians pick from this list in the mobile app.
Go to General Settings > App settings.
Find the Job cancel reasons field.
Type a reason and press Enter. Add as many reasons as you need, for example No access to meter or Client does not allow the work.
Click Save.
The app shows the reasons in the order you saved them. The Other option is always added at the end of the list, so you don't need to create it.
How to cancel a job in the mobile app (technician)
Open the work order and go to its list of jobs.
Delete the job you won't do. [
Pick a reason from the list. If none of them fit, choose Other and type the reason yourself. It must be at least 6 characters long.
4. Tap Confirm.
The job is removed from the work order. If you close the window without confirming, nothing is deleted.
Have in mind that this also works offline. The reason is sent to Frontu together with the work order when the technician stops, signs or completes it.
Where to see the cancel reason (administrator)
In the web app, open the work order's detailed view.
Go to the Jobs tab.
Find the cancelled job. The reason is shown under the Description field, for example Cancel reason: No access to meter. The canceled job is only visible if it was suggested by the administrator.
The reason is added after the job's original description, so the original text is kept.
Good to know
Reasons are asked only in the mobile app. Deleting a job in the web app does not ask for a reason.
The bulk action Delete unfilled jobs does not ask for a reason.
The same list of reasons is used for all work order types.
If the add-on is off, deleting a job works as before, with no reason asked.
Troubleshooting
No reason window when deleting a job? The add-on may not be turned on for your company. Contact the Frontu team through Support chat.
Only "Other" in the list? Your administrator hasn't added any reasons yet. You can still choose Other and type your own reason.
Can't confirm? Pick a reason first. If you chose Other, type at least 6 characters.
