Image Required for Evaluation Questions

Configure evaluation questions that require photo attachments and ensure technicians provide visual proof during work order execution.

The Image Required option allows you to require users to attach at least one photo when answering an evaluation question. This helps ensure that visual proof is provided when completing evaluations in tasks.

Previously, evaluation questions could only be marked as Required, meaning app users had to select an answer. With this feature, questions can also require a photo attachment before the evaluation form is considered complete.

How to Create an Image-Required Evaluation Question

Follow these steps to create a questionnaire with a question that requires users to attach an image.

1. Open the Questionnaire list.

In the main menu, go to Questionnaires. The Questionnaire list page opens and displays all available questionnaires. Click + New to create a new questionnaire.

2. Create a new questionnaire

In the New questionnaire window, enter the Questionnaire title and select the appropriate Work order type (if needed). If the questionnaire must be completed during the task, enable Required?. You can also enable Visible to the customer if the answers should be shown in the PDF act, or Compliance form if the questionnaire must be completed before the task can be started. After configuring the settings, click Save.

If you do not see the Compliance form, it is not enabled for your account. Ask your account manager at Frontu to enable this feature if you want to test it out.

3. Add a new question

Click New question, enter the Question text, and select the Type of question.

4. Enable image requirement

To require users to attach a photo, enable Required and Image required in the question settings. Then add the answer options and click Save.

After adding the question, review the questionnaire and click Save or Save and publish to make the questionnaire available for use.

Note:
The Image required option can only be enabled when Required is selected.

How Image Required Works for Mobile App Users

When a mobile app user opens an evaluation form inside a work order, they will see questions marked with an Image required indicator.

These questions require the user to attach at least one photo before the form can be completed.

Task Completion

A task cannot be completed if any evaluation form contains:

  • unanswered mandatory questions, or

  • image-required questions without photos

In the Evaluations tab:

  • Incomplete forms display a red indicator

  • The task cannot be completed until all required answers and images are provided

Compliance Forms

For compliance forms, the requirements must be completed before the task can start.

If a compliance form contains image-required questions without photos:

  • The task cannot be started

  • A dialog prompts the user to complete the compliance form

  • In the task list, the button will show Open task instead of Start task
